These Terms describe the rules for using RantOut. By using the service, you agree to use it responsibly and in accordance with these Terms and applicable law.
Using RantOut
RantOut is a place to express what you’re holding in and acknowledge what others share. Conversation may follow when both members choose it.
RantOut does not guarantee:
- That another member will relate.
- That matching will always be accurate.
- That someone will accept a message request.
- That another person will respond.
- That the service will always be available without interruption.
Your account
You are responsible for providing valid account information, keeping your credentials secure, and activity performed through your account. Do not attempt to access another person's account.
Your public RantOut username does not give you permission to impersonate another person or organization.
Eligibility
You may use RantOut only if you are legally able to agree to these Terms and meet any age, consent or other eligibility requirements that apply where you live.
Your content
You retain responsibility for content you submit. By submitting content to RantOut, you give RantOut the permissions reasonably necessary to:
- Host and store it.
- Display public content where applicable.
- Transmit it to intended recipients.
- Process it for matching.
- Provide safety and moderation functions.
- Operate the service.
This permission is non-exclusive. RantOut does not claim ownership of your content.
Public rants
Rants are public while eligible for public display. Do not include:
- Information you are not comfortable sharing publicly.
- Someone else's private identifying information without a legitimate reason or permission.
- Content that violates these Terms or Community Guidelines.
RantOut may remove content from public view when necessary. Removing or expiring a rant cannot recover copies that other people have made and does not automatically delete an accepted conversation.
Reactions and message requests
Reactions are member expressions and do not necessarily mean endorsement or advice.
A message request includes one introductory text. The recipient can Accept or Ignore it. Acceptance is optional; further chat messages are available only after acceptance.
Repeated unwanted attempts, pressure to respond and evading a block through another account are prohibited.
Private conversations
Beyond the introductory message request, private conversation becomes available only after acceptance. Private means that chats are not published as public rant content.
Chats are stored by RantOut and are not end-to-end encrypted. See the Privacy page for how stored information is handled.
Members cannot currently delete individual messages or whole conversation histories.
Images
Only send images you have the right to share. Do not send:
- Unwanted sexual or explicit material.
- Identifying documents.
- Private information belonging to another person.
- Illegal or exploitative content.
- Content intended to harass, threaten or pressure someone.
Prohibited conduct
Do not use RantOut to:
- Threaten, harass, stalk or intimidate people.
- Promote hatred or targeted abuse.
- Impersonate others, scam or defraud.
- Expose private identifying information.
- Send unwanted sexual content.
- Exploit vulnerable users.
- Evade blocks or restrictions.
- Interfere with platform security.
- Automate spam or attempt unauthorized access.
- Upload malicious content or violate applicable law.
Moderation
RantOut may review relevant content and take reasonable action when necessary to investigate abuse, enforce platform rules, or protect the service and its members. This may include removing content from view, restricting accounts, and retaining relevant evidence.
A report does not automatically mean the reported content or user violated the rules. Reports are reviewed in context and do not guarantee a particular outcome or response time.
Blocking and hiding
Blocking stops further interaction while the block remains active. Existing conversation history is retained.
Hiding a chat only changes your own Chats list. Hiding is not deletion, and a new message can make a hidden conversation reappear.
Service changes
RantOut may change, add or remove service functionality over time. Features may be temporarily unavailable.
No professional or emergency service
RantOut is a social platform. It is not a substitute for professional medical, mental-health, legal, financial or emergency services.
If someone is in immediate danger, use appropriate local emergency services or trusted local resources.
Account restrictions
RantOut may suspend or ban accounts when reasonably necessary to enforce these Terms, apply Community Guidelines, protect members, investigate abuse or protect platform security.
Historical records may remain retained as described in the Privacy page.
Changes to these Terms
These Terms may change as RantOut evolves. Continued use after updated Terms become applicable may be subject to the updated version and applicable notice requirements.
